Results 2008

In 2008, Oakhill students had the opportunity to compete for the Br Alf Zoanetti Cross Country Shield. Br Alf was a member of staff at Oakhill from 2001-2007 and was very keen on sport. Whilst on staff he coached a number of basketball and rugby teams and was often heard telling students of his feats as an athlete in his younger days. Br Alf is now teaching at St Bede's in Mentone and is missed by all who knew him at Oakhill.

To win the Br Alf Cross Country Shield, each house nominates up to 6 runners per age group to complete the College cross country course. The top three runners per house received points based on here they finished. Therefore, the house with the lowest total was declared the winner. House points and age champions can be viewed on the link below.

From the College Cross Country, a team was selected to compete at the ISA Cross Country Championships in Bowral. Similar to the College Championships, 10 runners per School per age group were selected to run, with the top 4 placings added to determine the winning school. I am very pleased to report that Oakhill finished 2nd in the Junior and Senior Divisions, and second overall. In the Junior Division, Oakhill finished on 53 points, 5 points behind winners St Pat's Strathfield. Well done to all runners on their performances. Our senior girls team were also second in their Division, finishing 20 points behind Chevalier College. Overall there were some excellent results, including:
